Optional home protection
Home Warranty Service Contracts
Homeowners insurance and a home warranty do different jobs. A homeowners policy generally addresses covered accidental losses, while a home warranty service contract may help with certain eligible home systems and appliances that fail from normal wear and tear.
What may be included
Depending on the provider and contract, eligible items can include HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, water heaters, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, garage-door openers and other listed systems or appliances.
What to review before buying
- Covered systems and appliances
- Service fees or deductibles
- Coverage limits
- Preexisting-condition provisions
- Maintenance obligations
- Exclusions and waiting periods
- Repair versus replacement provisions
- Cancellation and transfer terms
Not homeowners insurance: A home warranty is generally a service contract and does not replace homeowners insurance. The provider’s contract controls coverage. Ask us about current Arizona availability and provider options.
